Tooth Structure:
The teeth of Mammals, unlike most other animals,
are differentiated into different types of
teeth, namely incisors for cutting, Canines
for piercing and Molars and Pre-Molars for
grinding. Lower animals replace their teeth
regularly, while Mammals only have two sets
of teeth during their lifetime. Our first
set, the milk teeth, consists of incisors,
canines and pre-molars, but no molars. These
are replaced in time by our adult teeth including
molars.
Hygiene of the mouth:
Correct hygiene of the mouth is not limited
to just cleaning the teeth, but also applies
to the gums as many of the oral problems seen
today arise from the incorrect care of the
gums. Teeth should ideally be cleaned at least
morning and night and also after meals where
possible.
Anthroposophic medicine does not view the
teeth and gums as isolated parts of our bodies.
Instead they are regarded as an integral part
of the whole being, subjected to the same
life-forces that flow through the body, bringing
health to each part. If these forces are weakened,
disease or decay can set in. Correct oral
hygiene, therefore, must be designed to strengthen
these forces and direct them into the mouth.
Litna Herbal Toothpaste was formulated with
this in mind using only the finest natural
ingredients. |

All
our teeth have the same basic structure.
The outside of a tooth is coated in hard Enamel
which protects the softer contents from damage
and attack.
The next layer is the softer Dentine.
In the center is a pulp cavity containing
the blood supply and nerve fibers.
The tooth is attached to the jaw bone by cement.
